Our lives are built around communication, and yet many AAC tools stop short of offering real social connection. TippyTalk closes that gap by giving users:
"The TippyTalk app has helped my child from his frustration and my own frustration. I can definitely see how it benefits our lives and others."
This app is Amazing! I love it. I personalized it for my daughter because I can just snap pictures of all the things she is familiar with and make them instant pecs for her choices. I don't think I'll ever be done with giving her more choices. This is great!
Beth Sheehan, Parent
The feeling is unreal. Amazing. I feel like my son is actually talking to me. Thank you!
Rachel Williams, Parent
My son told me he loved me today thanks to this app. You can’t put a price on that.
Dustin Galdeano, Parent
It’s great we started last night and my 5 yr old niece told her mom she was sad twice and prior to using it she had a tantrum and she was able to say she was sad to her mom. Then after an hour of playing online with the phone we asked her again how she felt then touched the happy icon.
Stephanie Hankammer
I really love the fact that you can customize it to fit my child’s environment. I love that I can make people who I feel comfortable with manage the cards as well to fit their environment like ABA Learning center and his school setting. I think that this is a beautiful program that could benefit so many other children.
Joshelyn Salton
I'm still emotional after trying so many apps for my non verbal daughter who's 19 and diagnosed with Cohen syndrome. I'd given up until I just tried TippyTalk. Demi's first text sent was “I want a hug.” Nothing could top what I'm feeling right now.

What is AAC and the TippyTalk app?
AAC apps can help to give a nonverbal or speech-impaired person a way to be understood quickly. This helps resolve frustration, shortcut emotional outburst, and help the parent and child feel connected. A second goal is to show the child, in real time, how their need is expressed in language. It models speech for them while helping them feel better for being understood.
TippyTalk is a unique AAC app designed for non-verbal and speech-impaired users. It serves as a TWO-WAY communication tool that allows users to create simple sentences by selecting illustrations. These sentences can be READ ALOUD or SENT directly to a member of the user’s private community, who can RESPOND with video or audio.
TippyTalk helps children communicate their needs, thoughts, and emotions in an accessible and effective way. Through your STAP application, there are no subscription fees to use the app.
How does the TippyTalk speech app work?
The speaking function: The app will show the user an initial set of pictures which represent the beginning of a request. After choosing one of those, the user touches a picture to complete the thought. Since the app has thousands of possible pictures, the parent sets up the app so relevant pictures appear for that child. Parents can also upload photos from their own phones to make the experience especially personal for the child. When a user touches the relevant pictures in sequence, the app speaks a simple sentence for them.
The texting function: TippyTalk is unique among AAC speech apps because it can ALSO create a text out of the user's chosen picture sequence and send it to a caregiver's mobile phone. The child does not need to read or write. The app does the work. So parents, family and friends can be in communication with a nonverbal child when they are not together. The parent can respond with audio, video, emojis or simple words the child understands.
